Abstract
The article substantiates the features of using language strategies in teaching a foreign language. The analysis of the problem of awareness of reading and writing in the study of foreign languages in domestic and international scientific research is carried out. Attention is focused on two areas with the use of the strategy - orientation to conscious reading and understanding of writing, which play a dominant role in teaching foreign languages. It is noted that effective mindful reading is largely depends on the reader and on what procedure and technique is used to achieve the goal of the reading. It has been determined that in the strategy of teaching a foreign language, it is important to develop a positive speech attitude, which makes it possible to effectively master a foreign language.
