Abstract

The reform of the Ukrainian educational sector requires an objective study and critical analysis of pedagogical ideas in their historical development. In this context, the activities of educational institutions of Transcarpathia of the 20-30s of the 20th century, which in this period developed as part of Czechoslovakia, are of relevance in this context, and, consequently, the pedagogical process was based on the traditions of the historical lands of the state and of the whole Eastern Europe. The purpose of the article is based on the analysis of archival sources and the pedagogical press of Transcarpathia in 20-30th years of the twentieth century to highlight the ideas of the European pedagogical experience of organizing the educational environment, relevant for implementation in the modern pedagogical process. The article presents a retrospective analysis of the development of Transcarpathian education in the 20's and 30's of the 20th century, when the region was part of the Czechoslovak Republic in accordance with the Saint-Germain Peace Agreement. The author investigates the educational environment of the region from the point of view of the introduction of the pedagogical experience of the historical lands of Czechoslovakia, and hence Eastern Europe in general. The main focus is on the difficulties of establishing a national Ukrainian school of that time under conditions of "alien state", multiethnic diversity of the population and polar political preferences of the educational community of the region. A number of ideas of the European pedagogical experience of organizing the educational process of the school, the activities of higher educational institutions, staffing and teacher training, which retain the professional value of our time and are worthy for implementation in the modern educational environment in the context of the reform of the "New Ukrainian School", have been singled out. In the process of disclosure of the topic, a set of theoretical research methods have been applied: analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, and classification.
