Methodological features of the study of an adverb as part of speech at the lessons of Ukrainian language in elementary school

Abstract

The article discloses modern requirements for the study of grammatical material, adverb in particular. The relevance of the research is formulated. The language situation in Ukraine largely depends on the study of the Ukrainian language as a basic discipline in a general education school. The Law of Ukraine «On Education» formulates the competences that a learner must possess, one of which is possession of the state language. New approaches to teaching the Ukrainian language require updating the teaching methodology, a differentiated approach to determining the minimum, sufficient and special thorough knowledge and skills on this subject. The approaches to language learning in the context of the new State Standard of Elementary Education are defined. It has been found out that the Concept of the New Ukrainian School is aimed at assimilating the Ukrainian language, first of all, as a means of communication, knowledge and influence on the individual, that is, the initial course should foresee the formation of communicative competence as a result of learning. The purpose of the article is to determine the methodological features of the study of the adverb at the lessons of the Ukrainian language. To achieve the research goal, the following tasks have been identified: to understand the difficulty in assimilating the adverb; to distinguish methods of its study in the 4th form. The program requirements for the study of this part of the language are analyzed. Students become acquainted with the notion of part of the language, the relationship of the adverb with the verb, its grammatical features and the specifics of the writing of individual words. Explained mistakes made by the fourth grade students in the process of studying the adverb. The traditional and innovative methods of assimilation of a part of the language are offered. Among them: the creation of a problem situation, observation and analysis of coherent text, text center, game. The method of carrying out each of them is described. Examples of games that can be used during the study of the adverb are given. A system of exercises is formed for forming the ability to distinguish parts of the language and culture of written speech. These are analytical, synthetic, creative exercises, exercises with communicative tasks. Thus, the entire system of work on the adverb should be aimed at the pupils understanding the peculiarities of this part of the language and the development of the ability to use adverbs, depending on the situation of communication. The prospect of further research is seen in the study of the methodology of an integrated Ukrainian language lesson.
