Psychological support of social workers in professional activity with people of late growing up

Abstract
The article deals with the issues of psychological support of social workers in professional activities with people of late adulthood. Social workers usually are people without special training, who directly interact with the wards, provide them with social services, make unskilled work. They face a variety of social issues and life situations of clients. This leads to stressfulness of the professional activities of social workers, the presence in it of numerous factors contributing to their psychological burnout, a tendency to experiencing professional crises. Psychological support for social workers and assisting them in working with people of late adulthood are needed. Therefore, the purpose of the article was to analyze the features of the application of the lecture course "Psychology of late adulthood" in the context of such support; to develop recommendations for social workers to optimize their interaction with the elderly. The main purpose of this course was to inform social workers about the theoretical foundations of the psychology of persons of late adulthood. The course has six topics (lectures): late adulthood as an important part of the human life, anatomical and physiological features of a person in late adulthood, age-related personality changes in late adulthood, cognitive processes in late adulthood, anaging person in society, the features of interpersonal communication in late adulthood. The course has a lecture form of activity and control. Each lecture has three parts: the introductory part, presentation of the main content, conclusions (summary). Features of the implementation of this program are substantiated. Each topic has specific questions for self-control. Analysis of the implementation of the lecture course "Psychology of the cognitive road" for social workers allowed us to determine its methodology. It will help to improve the effectiveness of interpersonal communication of the elderly in the future. Methodical recommendations for improving the psychological education of social workers have been made.
