University education in the context of stable development

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of the role of university education in the context of sustainable development. The dominant directions of university education development were identified: the orientation of education on the achievement of sustainable development and social responsibility; practical orientation of education; interdisciplinary education; formation of a system of continuous education; transition to electronic educational platforms; international student mobility; political orientation of education. The goals of university education until 2030 are to provide equal access to inexpensive and high-quality higher education for the entire population, to create and improve institutions of higher education that take into account the interests of disabled children and gender aspects, with the condition of providing free of violence and social barriers and an effective learning environment for all. The objectives of university education are as follows: activation of training of highly intelligent personnel for the sustainable development of society, ensuring the viability and sustainability of the development of society through the training of future socially responsible leaders; popularization of the principles of sustainable development and formation of socially-responsible behavior of the population and business; conducting research in the area of sustainable development with the purpose of expanding the theoretical base and developing mechanisms for implementation, realization, control of interdisciplinary research, planning and implementation of multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary programs in related areas of knowledge, training of specialists in interbranch, integral and dual specialties and areas. It is concluded that university education in the 21st century has a significant impact on the restoration of the scientific potential of society, social reproduction, socialization of the individual; promotes economic and social development of society and promotes social mobility, carries out cultural-ideological influence on public consciousness; transfers cultural capital.
