Teacher in the context of European decision of Ukraine

Abstract

The aim of the article is to summarize the factors of European integration influence on professional portrait of a teacher in modern Ukraine. The dependence between the changes of valuable orientations in the society and the content and form of professional activity of a teacher is analyzed in the article. It is also proved that the effectiveness of the teacher's activity will be higher if the competence approach is linked with the ideas of humanism, democracy and intellectual pedagogy. The results that we have received give us the opportunity to create the psychological and pedagogical model of the teacher in Ukraine on national and cultural background. The author writes about the signs of the modern educational process, which should lead to global changes in mentality: pedagogy-humanistic, the ideology of education is with a man in the centerthe, educational ideal is moral and ethical , the method of teaching and upbringing is intellectual and spiritual, the style of pedagogical communication is democratic, the priority is individuality, the pedagogical system is oriented towards the person, functional approach is a competent paradigm. The author concludes that the teacher must have characteristics of the democrat, humanist, optimistic, nationally conscious and socially acative personality, innovator, high-level professional and spiritual person. Primary changes in the mind of the teacher relate to a paradigm of values from authoritarian to democratic.
