The formation and the development of university-level foreign language training of humanities professionals in the Slovak lands in historical perspective

Abstract
The research of university-level foreign language training of humanities professionals on the territory of Slovakia is considered to be the main topic of the article. The purpose of the article is to characterize the formation and the development of university-level foreign language training of humanities professionals in the Slovak lands in historical perspective. To achieve the established goal we have used the effective research methods, such as: analysis and theoretical generalization. In the context of integration processes, the study of European countries' experience, in particular, of the Slovak Republic, has been actualized. The development of university-level foreign language training of humanities professionals on the territory of Slovakia has been carried out. The initial phase of the development has been described. Having considered university-level foreign language training at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, and analyzed the peculiarities of this training in the initial stage, it can be argued that the Slovak Republic is committed to providing quality education. The dominant peculiarity of the initial stage is considered to be the invitation of the prominent scholars for cooperation in order to improve the process of university-level foreign language training. The problem of university-level foreign language training of humanities professionals requires a further study, as its separate aspects haven't been considered to a full degree, in particular: search of effective methods and forms of organizing the process of training activity, the improvement of the content and the structure of the curricula, search of the possibilities of implementing the progressive foreign experience, in particular, of the Slovak Republic, concerning the professional university-level foreign language training at higher school. Under such conditions the theme of these specialists' training acquires special attention and needs profound pedagogical research in order to be aware of positive aspects of Slovak experience in sphere of humanities professionals training at the higher education establishments.
