Development of education in Hungaryі: historical and pedagogical aspect

Abstract
On the basis of generalized research results of historical, socio-political and socio-economic development of Hungary, six periods of Hungarian education have been identified: the first - X-XI cc. - the opening and development of the first schools in Hungary, forming the three - stages structure of education; the second – XIV c. – the beginning of XVI century. – the Renaissance, the division levels of education into primary, secondary and higher education. The opening of the first university in Hungary (1367, Pécs); the third - first half of XVI c. - the beginning of XVIII c. - Ottoman yoke in Danubian part of Hungary, strengthening of the power of the Habsburgs in western and northern parts of the kingdom "Hungary", flourishing of Latin schools, strengthening the role of the Hungarian language; the fourth – the beginning of XVIII c. – the beginning of XX c. - the national liberation movement and the centralization of the Habsburg Empire, the organization of national, public schools, expansion of higher education, the establishment of new universities (Debrecen); the fifth - 1945 - 1991 yy. – period of the Soviet rule in Hungary, the abolition of church and parish schools, unification of curricula, increasing of schools construction, increasing the number of universities to 16, the learning at the universities and institutes is also carried out in the evening and correspondence departments; the sixth – 1991 y. - present time - the period of modernization, the entry of Hungary into the European educational space. As it has been stated in the article, that the requests and needs of society in different historical periods contributed to the development of secondary, vocational and higher education, which had much in common with the processes in the humanitarian sphere in other European countries, although there were periods of decline, which was caused by wars, totalitarian regimes etc. Further detailed analysis of the history of education in Hungary will identify positive results and shortcomings in its development, which can be used in the reforming of educational system of Ukraine.
