Formation of lingvo country study competence of teachers of Ukrainian language and literature based on competence approach

Abstract

The article analyses the ideas of competence approach as a methodological basis of competences formation of the Ukrainian language and literature prospective teacher. It is found that competence-based approach is aimed at the formation and development of subject and general competences. The competence approach determines the active and practical nature of philological education, achievement of quality results of professional training of Ukrainian language and literature teachers. The necessity of linguo-cross-cultural competence forming in the process of professional training in the higher educational institution is substantiated. To identify the competitiveness in the job market, the prospective teacher of Ukrainian language and literature should possess integrative knowledge, to be able to comprehensively use interdisciplinary connections of philological disciplines, continuously develop their professional skills, engage in research activities, to motivate students. Linguo-cross-cultural competence formation of prospective teachers of Ukrainian language and literature should be implemented on the basis of competence approach, which involves motivation formation, value orientation, development of forms and methods of linguo-cross-cultural knowledge transmission, reflective evaluation, orientation on in-depth study of linguo-cross-culture, acquiring effective life philosophy to apply linguistic knowledge in educational practice of the school. Linguo-cross-cultural competence is defined as a set of integrative linguo-cross-cultural knowledge, skills, values, and stipulates their retransmission in the process of teaching literary, folklore, cross-cultural subjects. Linguo-cross-cultural competence contributes to the formation of motivation to the integrated study of language, literature, cultural values through the mastery of the native language, allows the use of innovative methods and ways of acquiring linguo-cross-cultural knowledge.
