Abstract

Our study starts from our empirical experiences that reveal that Early Childhood Education teachers have difficulties in inserting playfulness as a methodological path to the curriculum and daily life of children. Throughout the study we sought to discuss toys, games and games as pedagogical strategies in Early Childhood Education. In this sense, we will seek to answer the following question: How playfulness can be a teaching tool and methodology for the pedagogical practices of early childhood education? And it aims to debate playfulness as a pedagogical resource for the development of students' skills and abilities, in the context of Early Childhood Education.The research is characterized as bibliographic, carried out from January to March 2021 and covered the following stages: bibliographic selection and documents related to the theme and in physical media and on the internet; reading the selected material; analysis and critical reflection on the selected material; and exposure of the results obtained through a written text. As a theoretical assistance we had the contribution of Ferreira, Silva and Reschke (2009), Soares (2010) and Friedmann (2012).The study showed that play in a planned way, and not randomly, can significantly contribute to the child's learning, among which we highlight: physical, social and intellectual development, in addition to, the development of cooperation, rules and respect to the others. Therefore, it is up to the teacher to seek strategies and learning possibilities, establishing his pedagogical objectives in line with his practice mediated in this case by playfulness.
