Abstract
It is a consensus that educational inequalities are an obstacle to social, economic and human development. The present work proposes to analyze, through multivariate logistic regression, which factors are more associated with the access and permanence of an individual in higher education, whether of color or white or non-white race. The results show that the variables that have the greatest impact are paid work, the type of course completed and income. It is concluded that these factors that most influence higher education by color or race of the individual demonstrate that there is an educational inequality in the state of Rio Grande do Norte
