Abstract
Post Independence India has been on a steady path of growth and advancements. India as a country has been continuously blessed by a number of great politicians, leaders, thinkers and visionaries. Their efforts have resulted in the formation of one of the most detailed, comprehensive and successful Constitution of India. Though India is on a success path but it has also been struggling with certain challenges which are barricading the growth process and pulling our country to realize its potential. One such major challenge which has been a major concern in the past few years is corruption, red-tapism, unnecessary delays in day to day government work and rising burden on our legal framework due to the lack of proper grievance redressal which can be effectively countered by the smart initiative of Digital India.
The paper aims to highlight the day to day practical issues which arise in the working of our government offices, and keeping a key focus upon the areas of end to end digitalization, time-bound redressal process, escalation procedures, reduction of corrupt practices, avoidance of unnecessary delays in approvals, sanctions and other government process, reducing the stress levels of our appointed public servants and ensuring a better quality work environment for them, shifting the paradigm of service by focusing on total cumulative experience that a citizen derives from a government office. The paper is based on secondary data. It has a practical implication both for the academicians and for the readers. The highlights of the paper can be used for further research purpose and provides knowledge base to the readers. It can also be used by policy developers to strengthen the basic pillars upon which the idea of digitalization may be framed to ensure that the initiative of Digital India meets its true motive and its effective implementation
