Abstract
Current lifestyle, stress, and pollution have dramatically enhanced the progression of several diseases in human. Fenugreek (Trigonella foenumgraecum) commonly known as Methi is an annual herb belonging to family Fabaceae. It is cultivated worldwide as a semiarid crop, and its seeds are a common ingredient in dishes from the Indian subcontinent. This plant has medicinal alkaloids, steroid compounds, and sapogenins and many uses have been mentioned for this plant in traditional medicine. Fenugreek seeds contain a substantial amount of fiber, phospholipids, glycolipids, oleic acid, linolenic acid, linoleic acid, choline, vitamins A, B1, B2, C, nicotinic acid, niacin, and many other functional elements. Therefore, in addition to the pharmacological effects of fenugreek in different approaches for diseases have also been discussed.
