Abstract
The tasks of municipal fire service are considered. A comparative analysis of the response indicators of municipal fire service divisions and other types of fire service is carried out. There have been identified a number of problems that prevent the municipal fire service divisions from effective solving the problem of saving people and property in case of fire. It is shown that the risk of death in city fires, which are extinguished by divisions of municipal fire service, is 86 % higher than at the extinguishing by FPS GPS divisions. In rural areas this index is less and makes 34 %. As for the risk of injury of people during fire extinguishing in cities by the municipal fire service divisions is 8 % higher than by FPS GPS. In rural areas, respectively, the difference in the magnitude of the risk of death is slightly higher and makes 10 %.
