Nanocomposites Used In Prosthodontics And Implantology - A Review

Nanotechnology is the science that involves controlled manipulation of particles at the nanoscale dimensions, which allows for development of biomaterials with superior properties and functionality. A wide range of nanoparticles are combined with polymers to form nanocomposites. Such biomaterials have been widely used in various industries especially in the medical and dental field. In prosthodontics, the branch of dentistry that deals with prosthetic rehabilitation of missing teeth, nanocomposites have been incorporated into almost all the biomaterials with the notion of enhancing their properties.
