Abstract
Dental caries is the most prevalent oral hygiene concern in children. Fluoride application has played a major role in preventing caries by identifying the high risk population and use of fluoride on them has controlled caries to a considerable extent. Fluoride is used as a chemotherapeutic agent for caries prevention. Fluoride varnish and gel are types of topical fluoride application.
