Abstract

High velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) coating process has been widely applied to the flexibility by several industries. By HVOF coating parameters changing were significantly influenced the mechanical properties. In this work, the design and analysis of experiments (DOE) equation model were improved to optimize the HVOF coating process for deposition of SUS 400 stainless steel. Finally, the best multi-response indicated porosity, harness, surface roughness and coating-film thickness values of 0.0721%vol., 1288.6306 HV, 6.5551 µm and 322.0816 µm, respectively for optimized parameter settings namely; the oxygen flow rate (A) of 280 l/min, the propane flow rate (B) of 16.5 l/min, the powder feed rate (C) of 107 g/min and the spraying distance (D) of 260 mm.
