Abstract
Carbethoxyhydrazone of α-ketoglutaric acid, which is not described in the chemical literature, has been synthesized. The synthesis was carried out in one stage in the absence of an acid catalyst. The product yield was about 90%. The qualitative and quantitative composition of the target product is confirmed by elemental microanalysis.
