Abstract

Azerbaijan People's Artist Agha Mehdiyev has painted colorful paintings on different subjects and genres throughout his career. Landscapes have a special place among these genres. The innovative and different ideas of the artist, who is always in search of innovation, took him to Turkey, the land of legends, one of the most important art and culture centers of the world. Despite his short trip to Turkey, this trip has always been an important memory in the artist's life. Aga Mehdiyev, in addition to the paintings he painted during his short stay in Turkey, created many eye-catching landscapes reflecting the impressions he received during his visit to Turkey after his return to Azerbaijan. The paintings that Agha Mehdiyev painted during his short time in the brotherly country have a special place in all of his works and require special research and interpretation. For this reason, it is important to look at the works of Aga Mehdiyev on Turkey in terms of art criticism and to examine these works in comparison with other works on the same subject and other views of Aga Mehdiyev.
