Abstract
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in Americanah maps the cultural tensions that immigrants often face. The paper focuses on the concept of self and the other in a multicultural space and how minorities manoeuvre their existence in a hostile environment. Adichie portrays the reality of the diasporic experience which is often disappointing.
