CHIEF ADMIRAL KUCUK HUSEYIN PASHA AS THE RUMELIA SERASKER / KAPTAN-I DERYA KÜÇÜK HÜSEYİN PAŞA’NIN RUMELİ SERASKERLİĞİ

The Pazvandoğlu Rebellion, which took place in the Rumelian territories of the Ottoman Empire at the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th centuries, was a revolt that was effective enough to shake the reputation of the empire. Therefore, the suppression of this rebellion was essential for the empire. At this point, the Ottoman Empire organized many campaigns on the Pazvandoğlu. On one of these campaigns, the Chief Admiral Küçük Hüseyin Pasha embarked on April 10, 1798 with the title of serasker of Rumelia. Thus, the study focuses on this expedition of Küçük Hüseyin Pasha, who joined this campaign as the serasker of Rumelia. The main reason for choosing this topic is that this campaign was overshadowed by the Pazvandoğlu Rebellion. However, there was a clique conflict in the background of the campaign and Küçük Hüseyin Pasha, who had influence on Selim III, was sent to Rumelia campaign forcefully with the attempt of his rivals. / Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun Rumeli topraklarında 18. yüzyılın sonları ile 19. yüzyılın başlarında meydana gelen Pazvandoğlu İsyanı, imparatorluğun itibarını sarsacak derecede etkili olmuş bir isyandır. Dolayısıyla bu isyanın bastırılması, imparatorluk için temel önemdedir. Bu noktada da Osmanlı İmparatorluğu, Pazvandoğlu üzerine birçok sefer düzenlemiştir. Bunlardan biri de Kaptan-ı Derya Küçük Hüseyin Paşa'nın Rumeli seraskeri unvanıyla 10 Nisan 1798'de çıktığı seferdir. Buradan hareketle çalışma, Küçük Hüseyin Paşa'nın Rumeli seraskeri olarak çıktığı bu seferi konu edinmektedir. Böyle bir konuyu seçmemizdeki ana etken, bu seferin, Pazvandoğlu İsyanının gölgesinde kalmış olmasıdır. Oysaki seferin arka planında bir hizip çatışması vardır ve III. Selim üzerinde nüfuz sahibi olan Küçük Hüseyin Paşa, rakiplerinin girişimiyle zoraki bir şekilde Rumeli seferine yollanmıştır.
