MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT AND ITS IMPACT: A REVIEW

The task of meeting the incremental infrastructural demands of a rising urban population is becoming increasingly difficult in Cities of the developing world. This paper's main focus is on the management of (MSW)municipal solid waste and its health and environmental consequences because inefficient management of (MSW)municipal solid waste can result in severe negative environmental and health consequences such as infectious diseases, land and water pollution, drain obstruction, and biodiversity loss. Management of solid waste encompasses a huge range of waste kinds which including industrial, agricultural, transportation, municipal, and so on. Although all wastes are dangerous, municipal solid waste (today known as Solid Garbage) is the sort of waste that has to be carefully handled and examined since it directly affects ordinary people in numerous ways. This paper presents a comprehensive assessment of the existing research on the characterization, collection, management, treatment, disposal, and repercussions of Municipal Solid Wastes.
