PREPARATION AND STANDARIZATION OF SARASWATA CHURNA PREPARED BY POTENTIZED METHOD

Saraswata Churna is a unique combination of Ayurvedic herbal drugs, containing mainly those drugs which are having Medhya properties like Vacha, Shankhpushpi, Ahswagandha, Bramhi etc. For the first time Saraswata churna is described in Bhavaprakash Unmadadhikar and formula given in the same. Due to its Medhya properties it is selected for present study. The drug is prepared in the Ayurvedic Pharmacy of Govt. Ayurved College, Raipur, Chatisgadha. This drug has neurotropic enhancing property (dhi, dhriti, smriti vardhaka) and works as Medhya rasayana. This churna (powder) acts in various mental disorders like Unmada (hysteria), Apasmara (epilepsy), Ardita (facial palsy), Pakshaghata (Paralysis), Anxiety, Nidranasha (Insomnia) etc.
