Abstract
In today’s era of rat race, every person is trying to earn more money to fulfil their daily needs. To achieve this many people ignore their health by taking improper diet along with improper Anupana (after drink). In Ayurveda texts Anupana refers as after drink which can be consumed after meal or medicine. In era of fast-food, many foreign based restaurants implemented wrong tradition to serve soft drinks along with food as anupana (after drink). These soft drinks contains caffeine, soda, sugar with artificial sweetener which leads to obesity along with other diseases like diabetes, teeth and bone damage and reproduction problems. In present case study, Draksharishta was given as Anupana in underweight to validate the concept of Ayurveda that Sura (madya /wine) can be given as anupana in lean person to make stout. So Draksharishta as Madya or Sura or in the form of wine was given to the subject after meal at afternoon and evening along with equal quantity of water. Significant changes were observed in body weight, BMI and body fat percentage as well as waist hip ratio after the anupana of Draksharishta.
