DEAF TEACHERS’ JOB-BURNOUT AND ITS INFLUENCING FACTORS IN CHINA: A NATIONAL WIDE SURVEY

Abstract
Deaf teachers play an indispensable role in the development of deaf education, while whose job-burnout was neglected by scholars. We investigated deaf teachers' jobburnout and its influencing factors in China by Copenhagen Burnout Inventory, UWES Work Engagement Scale and Intrapersonal and Interpersonal Emotional Competence Questionnaire. It found deaf teachers were of medium level of job-burnout, and there was significant difference of job-burnout in gender. Besides, there were significant negative correlation between work engagement and job-burnout, and positive correlation between emotional competence and work engagement. Practical implications were discussed in the paper.
