USING THE POTENTIAL OF EDUCATIONAL DISCIPLINES IN TRAINING FUTURE TEACHERS OF SOCIAL SCIENCES FOR THE NATIONAL IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS

Abstract
Introduction. Training of future social science teachers in modern conditions involves the development of higher education graduates of professional competencies, experience of practical educational activities, skills of critical and creative thinking, the ability to interact with all subjects of the educational process, various pedagogical situations, plan and build own pedagogical career, to learn throughout life. Today, competence in the field of social sciences is the key of preserving national identity, protecting the unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the development of civic institutions, democratic and humanistic values of modern society. The purpose of the article is to highlight the issue of using the potential of educational disciplines in training future teachers of social sciences for the national identity development of students. Methods. The article uses methods of analysis, generalization, systematization of scientific sources and training programs for future teachers of social sciences. The results. The article reveals the requirements for a modern teacher of social sciences, basic competencies, modern principles of training future teachers in the process of educational activities. The potential of educational disciplines «Civic education», «Biosociogenesis», «Theory and Methods of Teaching Socio-Political Disciplines», features of their teaching in higher education, focus on the needs of modern school are studied. Oringinality. The generalized experience of using the potential of academic disciplines in the preparation of future social science teachers for the development of students' national identity was studied.
