SPIRITUAL AND MORAL VALUES OF PERSONALITY EDUCATION IN THE HERITAGE OF UKRAINIAN TEACHERS AT THE END OF THE XIX – FIRST HALF OF THE XX CENTURY

The article analyses the views of H. Vashchenko, V. Zenkovsky, I. Ogienko on the development of youth spiritual and moral values. The importance of the development of Christian values for the personal development of the young generation in Ukraine is characterized. The main methods of development the spiritual culture of the individual are highlighted. The importance of family, school and out-of-school principle is presented and its influence on education of spirituality and morality in youth. The priority directions of efficiency increase and development of spiritual and moral values are defined. The author substantiates the expediency and relevance of using the experience of outstanding teachers on the spiritual and moral development of personality in the Ukrainian educational practice.
