Abstract
The students' learning achievements of the seventh grade students in Semarang is still not optimal so that it is necessary to implement learning model and approach that can solve the problem. Problem Based Learning (PBL) models can be applied to improve student learning achievements. The purpose of this study was to improve the average of students' learning achievements of the seventh grade students on learning PBL model. Two groups were randomly selected for use as a sample, i.e. as an experimental group and a control group for each group as many as 32 students of the seventh grade. Data collection in this research used test method. Both groups were given pretest and posttest with the same instrument. The data obtained were tested using the normalized gain test and the average paired differential test. The results showed that there is an increase in average learning achievements of the seventh grade students on learning PBL model on the subject matter of quadrilaterals. So it can be concluded that the application of PBL learning model can improve student learning achievements.
