Abstract
The article provides a detailed description and analysis of the range of Erinaceus roumanicus Barret-Hamilton, 1900 in the North Caucasus. Responses of the species to various anthropogenic factors have been identified, which makes it possible to anticipate changes in the number and density of the southern hedgehog population in specific landscape conditions, and, accordingly, its role in ecosystems.
