Role of Shiromani Akali Dal in Indian Politics

Shiromani Akali Dal SAD , also known as Akali Dal, is a regional political party, as approved by the Election Commission of India. Its mass base is mainly in the state of Punjab. Akali Dal works on the right wing political position with the political ideology of Sikhism. In other words, Shiromani Akali Dals basic claim to existence lies in meeting the demands of Sikhs in Punjab and around the world. The SAD is extreme right wing in the position as it claims that religion and politics are synonymous and one cannot function without the other.
