Abstract
Gender Equality refers to the equal human rights, responsibilities and opportunities of women and men and girls and boys. Equality does not imply that men and women will become equal, but that the duties, rights, responsibilities and opportunities of men and women will not be determined on the basis of whether they are born male or female. Gender equality implies that the interests, needs and priorities of both women and men are taken into consideration, recognizing the diversity of different groups of women and men. Gender equality is not only an issue of women but it is also associated with men in the same way.
