Abstract
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the project-based learning model in improving student learning outcomes in class VIII SMP 4 SATAP Kismantoro Wonogiri. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent group. The research subjects were 42 class VIII students, which were divided into 17 control class students and 25 experimental class students. The data analysis used was descriptive data analysis, paired simple t-test, independent t-test and N-Gain scores. The results showed that the project-based learning model could significantly improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP 4 SATAP Kismantoro. However, it still has not shown a high level of effectiveness in its implementation. Therefore, there is a need for further research, for the variables that influenced of implementation project based learning model.
