Abstract
Nature is playing a vital role in the agricultural sector. In particularly coastal areas farmers are facing a lot of problems in natural (positive or negative) impact. This study focused on the socio-economic condition of the tsunami-affected village in the Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu. Cuddalore is one of the backward districts and is located in the eastern coastal region of Tamil Nadu. The human development reports mention that (HDI-2017) Multi-Dimensional Poverty Index (MDPI) was 0.113 and 36.97 per cent of the households are living below the poverty line has compared to the low in-state average (Census-2011). The main objective of the study has to analyse the socio-economic condition of the selected village in the Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu. Around 68 per cent of the population are belonging to Hindu and the rest of the other communities. Even though 70 per cent of the respondents are educated below the highs school level
