Abstract

This research deals with the perception of teachers and administrators in the inclusion of children with mild to moderate disabilities to general education classroom. General education and special education teachers together with administrators were surveyed to gather data for this quantitative study. The Inclusive School Program survey by McLesky et al. 2001 and four point Likert scale were used in the collection of data. The respondents also responded to open ended questions in order to determine what training approach is most helpful and least beneficial. There was a low correlation between the perspective of educators and the variables, age and educational level, towards inclusive education. However, there was no significant correlation between educators' perspectives and gender and race profile in relation to inclusion of students with mild to moderate disabilities to general education. The researcher concluded that based on the assessment of educators' perspectives, a proposed plan would be administered to enhance educator's perspectives towards inclusion of students with mild to moderate disabilities into the general education classroom. It is recommended that professional development training for general education teachers should be conducted for them to be effective and efficient. Felipe M.
