Abstract

The article describes a generalized model of environmental information systems security in database management (DBMS). We can only talk about the degree of compatibility. The model includes nine named levels and three processes. At each level of the model there are database objects of the Ecological Information System, DBMS server and operating system. Division into levels is carried out according to the following principle: each level of the security model (except the top) is defined by objects and mechanisms defined at higher levels. The description of the model includes the principles and list of interlevel interaction of each object. The lowest (first) level of the model includes the relational database tables of the environmental information system, the operating system (processes, users, files, etc.) and the highest (ninth) objects. The concept of database surface is included in the model. Each surface defines one of the ways to logically present the database to the user. The model describes three processes: authentication, authorization and auditing. The authentication process affects the top three levels, the authorization process affects the next three, and the auditing process affects all nine levels of the model. The model can be used in the design of ecological information systems, while it allows to formulate basic requirements for information security of ecological information before choosing a database. In addition, the model can be used in the educational process to systematically describe information security technology used in modern databases.
