Abstract
Currently, more than 100 genes associated with the risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) have been described. The paper provides a list of genes associated with the development of DM2, but for many genes, the exact molecular mechanisms of participation in the pathogenesis of DM2 have not been definitively established.
