TEACHING TECHNOLOGICAL HOUSEHOLD ACTIVITIES IN THE NEW UKRAINIAN SCHOOL

Abstract

Introduction. Ukrainian society demands significant changes from the school in preparing students for life. Currently, significant changes in the education system related to the New Ukrainian School continue to take place. The modern content of school education is being updated, and existing approaches to its organization are being revised. With the help of traditional means and teaching methods, it is impossible to effectively prepare schoolchildren, teach them the technologies of household activities and form self-service skills. There is a contradiction between the new requirements for the education of students in the conditions of the New Ukrainian School and their preparation for independent life and the reflection of the features of such training in professional educational and methodical literature. Purpose. The article aims to analyze the peculiarities of the organization of teaching students of household activities in technology lessons in the conditions of the New Ukrainian School. Methods. Theoretical (analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, classification and systematization of modern scientific theoretical and empirical studies of an integrative approach). Results. The model programs of the New Ukrainian School of Technological Education are built based on the approach, aimed at the formation of competencies in students, which is designed to bring the education of the younger generation closer to the requirements of modern life. The formation of students' knowledge and skills in the technologies of household activities is achieved based on a combination of traditional methods of activity (explanatory-illustrative and reproductive teaching) and non-traditional (problematic presentation of educational material, partly exploratory, research). It is effective to perform exercises, tasks, and situations in the educational process that develop students' self-care skills. Originality. The reform of the New Ukrainian School in secondary education puts new demands on the personality of the technology teacher. A teacher of the New Ukrainian School is a teacher who knows how to independently design the educational process according to the abilities and natural inclinations of students, to independently develop model programs based on their vision of the content of the technological education of students and the creation of a comfortable educational environment for students. The current situation in Ukraine with the organization of the educational process at school actualizes the use of a mixed form of education. For the high-quality implementation of distance learning, various tools and tools are currently used - new forms of online communication with students, work on various Internet platforms. Distance education provides wide opportunities for the visualization of educational material in the process of conducting technology lessons. A modern technology teacher must be able to work on various Internet platforms, organize student learning in a mixed format, and confidently use Google's digital tools to effectively organize the educational process. Conclusion. In the conditions of the New Ukrainian School, in the lessons of technologies, when mastering the section «Technology of household activities and self-service», the study of certain content components is provided: household activities in a modern home; safe use of household appliances and use of labour; basics of consumer knowledge; basics of cooking and table etiquette; designing one's style; competences for personal growth, career, labour market. Ways to activate the educational and cognitive activity of schoolchildren in the educational process during the implementation of educational projects by students have been determined. The conclusion of the effectiveness of the use of information and communication technologies was made.
