Abstract

The development of teaching/learning methods is one of the priorities of societies because they must keep up with the pace imposed by modern technologies. To do this, researchers in the field have used ICTE, and perhaps the best example is the experiments made to introduce the smart phone (smartphone) and the touchscreen tablet (tablet/tablettouchscreen) to educational institutions and higher education. To achieve this objective, the programmers have worked to strengthen these devices through educational applications of various disciplines, namely the learning of French as a foreign language (FLE). Given the role of dictionaries in language acquisition in general, downloading this type of application is a necessity for the learner. We therefore decided to examine the degree of use of different types of dictionaries among university learners. With regard to attitudes, the participants consider the applications as tools, not as the main means of learning this despite their field of study, their age or their level of French. Regarding the use of technology in language learning, their attitudes were generally positive.
