PRODUCTIVITY OF DOCTORAL SCHOLARS SUPERVISING FACULTIES IN THE ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT OF SVNIT SURAT

Abstract
The present study is based on the productivity of doctoral scholars supervising faculties in the electrical engineering department of SVNIT Surat from 2012 to 2018. It is evaluated based on the publications indexed in the Scopus database. During this period, 20 PhD theses from electric engineering department were submitted to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat. Based on the data fetched from the Scopus database, the analysed is done. A total of 643 publications were fetched from the Scopus database authored by supervisors, and these publications have received 6591 Scopus indexed citations. The study revealed that Dr S. P. Ghoshal had published a maximum of papers, 292 (45.41%), and also received the maximum number of citations 4001 (60.70%). The high number of publications, citations, and collaboration demonstrates the "impact," "influence," or "quality" of scholarly communication authored by the supervisors of doctoral scholars in the electrical engineering department
