Abstract
Uterine choriocarcinoma is a malignant trophoblastic neoplasia. It usually occurs in women of reproductive age, but rarely can be found in post-menopause. A 54-year-old woman presented with vaginal bleeding 2 years after menopause. Hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy were performed. Uterine biopsy diagnosed choriocarcinoma supported by positive staining for beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) along with an elevated serum beta-hCG level. The patient was referred to the Oncology Hospital. This case report emphasizes the possibility of choriocarcioma occurrence in postmenopausal women, so it should be considered as a differential diagnosis.
