INNOVATIVE MANAGEMENT IN THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

The article is devoted to the study of the issue of realization of the specificity of innovation management in the field of agriculture. In the course of the study, the author analyzes the use of innovative management techniques in the agricultural sector of Ukraine. It is noted that in today's conditions, the use of innovative management principles is a fundamental component for the development of agriculture, as it is a strategically significant industry for ensuring food security in Ukraine. It is specified that the development of the agricultural sector at the regional level is an important component of increasing the competitiveness of the industry as a whole. The key problems that impede the introduction of innovative processes in the management system of the agricultural sector in Ukraine have been distinguished. It is stated that in order to overcome the aforementioned obstacles, it is necessary to develop a comprehensive programme for the introduction of innovative management in the field of agriculture. The practice of applying innovative forms of management, in particular, the implementation of innovative management strategies in the field of agriculture at the regional level on the example of Cherkasy region has been considered. An analysis of the economic indicators of the region's agriculture sector has made it possible to state that the agro-industrial complex is one of the largest and most important sectors of the Cherkasy region's economy, which generates the majority of food resources and has significant development perspectives. The above demonstrates the need to develop new activities and introduce innovative forms of management in the industry. It is observed that the complexity of implementing innovation management consists of the fact that the organization of innovative activity is a specially organized management process based on the coordinated and effective activity of the management team. It is stated that positive examples of already implemented areas of innovative management in the field of agriculture in Cherkasy region are the creation of unique brands of agricultural products and the use of the USAID Agricultural and Rural Development (ARD) program. The positive effects of the implementation of innovative management projects at the regional level, the key ones being an increase in labor productivity, development of production and improvement of living standards of rural residents have been identified.
