Abstract
Background: Staphylococcusaureusisanosocomialpathogen,causinghighmorbidityandmortality.TheprevalenceofMRSAinfectionandthesusceptibilitypatternofStaphylococcusaureusvarieswiththeregion. WiththisbackgroundpresentstudywasundertakentodeterminetheprevalenceofstaphylococcusaureusandMethicillin-ResistantStaphylococcusaureus(MRSA)isolatesfromvariousclinicalsamplesandtheirantimicrobialsusceptibilitypatterninatertiarycarehospital. MaterialsandMethods: Inthisretrospectivestudy,atotalof240isolatesofStaphylococcusaureuswascollectedfromaclinicalspecimen,betweenJune2021toMay2022intheDepartmentofMicrobiology,MGMMedicalCollegeandHospital,Aurangabad.StaphylococcusaureuswasidentifiedandtheirantibioticsusceptibilitytestingwasdeterminedbyusingVitek2compactsystemanddatawereanalyzed. Result: Inourstudytotalof240StaphylococcusaureuswereisolatedandtheprevalenceofMSSAwas27.5%andtheprevalenceofMRSAwas72.5%fromvariousclinicalsamples.
