Abstract

Made significant contributions to the success of businesses by creating and implementing novel strategies, frameworks, and approaches. Total quality management (TQM) is a theory about how to run a business in order to provide consistently high-quality goods and services. Its primary objectives are customer service and market sustainability. No one can deny the crucial responsibilities played by quality experts (gurus) in expanding and transforming the idea of quality from a narrowly focused technical system to a more comprehensive body of knowledge known as overall quality with implications for management in production. TQM was first developed in Japan after WWII thanks to the work of quality experts like Deming and Juran. Eventually, influential business thinkers like Crosby, Feigenbaum, Ishikawa in and others refined this management strategy to dramatically enhance company quality. TQM gurus' proposals and theories led to the creation of several national as well as global quality awards (QAs) in the 1980s and 1990s, all with the aim of providing criteria for TQM implementation.
