Abstract

The term "call center" is more often used in the United States, although the term "call center" is more common in the Commonwealth. Both terms refer to a controlled, centralized or remote capacity used to receive or send a high amount of telephone inquiries. A business with an inbound call center handles incoming customer service calls from people who have questions about the company's products or services. For the most part, outbound call centers are used for sales activities including telemarketing, debt collection, research on markets, emergency alerts, and urgent/critical need blood banks. In addition to telephony-based features, a contact center also manages the centralized processing of non-telephone individual contacts such letters, faxes, real-time assistance software, social media, instant messaging, and email
