Abstract

Productivity and thermal performance are used to compare a modified solar still to a traditional solar still in this article. We have estimated, examined, and discussed the exergy destructions in many solar stills parts. When compared to traditional stills, the exergy of evaporation is higher and the rate of evaporation is faster in modified solar stills. The effect of several variables on solar stills' efficiency is briefly explored as well. Graphite/water and copper oxide/water mixtures outperform the conventional still (29.17%) throughout the day in terms of energy efficiency. Moreover, the conventional still, a still based on copper oxide nanofluids, and a still based on graphite all had exergy efficiencies of 2.63%, 3.78%, and 4.32%, respectively, throughout the day.
