Abstract

Considering the theoretical problems of the analysis of the production of added value, Chinese economists pose and try to solve new theoretical questions for them. Is it possible that value-creating labor is limited to the production of material goods if the service sector occupies such a large share of the economy? Can service labor be considered value-producing? Does the labor employed in the field of education and cultural production create value? Can the work of managers create value? How does it differ from other types of economic activity? What is the relationship between value creation and its distribution in the current phase of China's economic development? Is the labor theory of value the basis of the distribution of goods in Chinese society? In the literature, insufficient attention is paid to the scientific interpretation of the labor theory of value by Chinese economists in relation to new historical conditions. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to consider the achievements of Chinese economic science in the development of the most fundamental methodological problems of the theory of value. In search of an answer to historical challenges, political economy in the People's Republic of China tries to expand the limits of the application of this theory for the analysis of modern problems. As the value-added contribution of those workers not directly involved in production increases, Chinese political economy seeks to find a categorical way to emphasize the role of intellectual workers; workers engaged in enriching the spiritual life of people or providing services to society. First of all, employees of science and management. All these workers are considered by Chinese economic science as engines of modern economic growth. At the same time, Chinese economists proceed from the fact that, given the significance of the Chinese experience for the theory and practice of world economic development as a whole, the results of their research are also important for many other countries. Since the historical conditions have changed, Chinese scholars seek to solve the fundamental methodological question about the relevance of the labor theory of value in the new conditions. Can it be used to explain modern economic phenomena and processes? How should it be used and creatively developed? Therefore, an important place in economic research is occupied by methodological, theoretical and practical issues related to the production of added value in conditions when the creation of value by productive labor is no longer limited to the production of material goods and extends to the provision of spiritual services and services in general, when productive labor is no longer limited to physical work and intellectual work, creative activity, innovation and management play an increasingly important role. The theoretical discussions considered in the article testify to the intensive development and creative development of the labor theory of value by Chinese scientists as the basis of scientific analysis of modern problems of creating added value. But at the same time, the possibility of developing an alternative theoretical approach to the analysis of added value creation in the modern economy opens up, based on the consideration of the development of creativity elements in the content of complex work.
