Abstract
Innovations in modern conditions become an important influencing factor, in particular, for the development of the country's national economy, increasing the level of human development and in the social sphere. This substantiates the need to study the relationship between relevant socio-economic indicators and innovations. Our work presents the results of a correlation-regression analysis between the index of innovation opportunities (The Global Innovation Index) and a range of educational indicators (Expected years of schooling, Mean years of schooling and the Education Index). Statistics of indicators for 2021. The sample includes 123 countries, differing by geographic feature and country's membership of the income group. A correlation analysis was conducted for the sample as a whole, which revealed the same nature of the linear relationship (direct and close) between the innovation index and the selected educational indicators. For groups of countries by income level, a direct linear relationship of different nature was found between the education and innovation index: close between the indicators for high income countries, and weak for countries with upper middle income. One-factor and multivariate linear regression models were built, which demonstrate the influence of educational indicators on the innovation index. Calculations for checking model parameters for statistical significance (Student's t-test) and the adequacy of models in general (Fisher's F-test) are presented, as well as a comparison of the results of built regression models. The comparison of the values of the relevant indicators on the charts is visualized. A result was obtained regarding the positive influence of educational indicators on the innovation index, which reflects various aspects of innovative activity in the country. In particular, the growth of the Global Innovation Index is accompanied by an increase in the value of the generalized indicator of the level of education — the Education Index.
