STATUS AND DEVELOPMENT TRENDS OF THE STARTUP ECOSYSTEM OF THE UKRAINIAN CITIES

The article analyzes the current state of the startup ecosystem of Ukrainian cities. The changes that have affected the modern startup ecosystem as a result of the war are explored. The Startup Blink ranking, which includes 100 startup ecosystems of countries and 1000 startup ecosystems of cities in the world, was studied. The development trends of the start-up ecosystems of the cities of Ukraine that are included in this rating are substantiated. The problems of entrepreneurship in Ukraine were analyzed and formulated. The main publications of domestic and foreign scientists regarding the development of the startup ecosystem as a whole have been studied. This approach made it possible to form one's own vision of the startup ecosystem, which is understood as an interacting and interdependent set of institutions whose activities create an environment for the qualitative and quantitative growth of startups as subjects of innovative entrepreneurship development. The article also analyzes data from StartupBlink's Global Startup Ecosystem Index, which is the largest comprehensive ranking of startup ecosystems. StartupBlink is the world's most comprehensive map of startup ecosystems and a research center that works to identify the momentum of startup ecosystems around the world and accelerate their growth. A well-founded methodology for calculating the index of startup ecosystems StartupBlink, which includes three components: quantitative, qualitative indicators and assessment of the business environment. Data analysis showed that the quantitative component responsible for the level of activity through its stakeholders, the number of existing startups, co-working spaces, accelerators and meetings in Ukraine in 2021 reached 4.39. The qualitative component, which is a parameter of the quality of the ecosystem's results and achievements, was 0.78. The component «Assessment of the business environment» stopped at the mark of 1.86. Such negative changes are due to the war. However, Ukraine's startup ecosystem has demonstrated resilience and remained in the world top 50, where it ranks 50th, which is positive. An analysis of the startup ecosystem of Ukraine by cities was also conducted separately, where the startup ecosystem of Kyiv fell by 45 positions, but, at the same time, the city remained in the highest ranking in Ukraine and the only one in the top 100 in the world.
