Abstract
The women today are portrayed as a commercial commodity by the mass media. The impact of ICT is wide spread. This research paper is an attempt to explore the role of ICT (Information and communication technology) mainly electronic and print media on public. The aim of the study was to study the attitude of public towards the woman who are working on media industry. The locale of the study was (Rawalpindi). The nature of the study was qualitative while the data was collected using a semi structured questionnaire from a sample of 68 respondents. Percentile analysis revealed that media seriously effects the social status and marital life as portrayal of females as a commodity and sexual object has fairly amplified in the last few years which has led has fairly decreased the level of acceptance of females in this field as moral and respectable individuals.
