Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the constant anxiety levels of wrestlers before non-contact training sessions held under Covid-19 virus measures. The population of the study consists of wrestlers in Istanbul, while the sample is comprised of 112 wrestlers randomly selected from those who trained in Bagcilar district and volunteered to participate in the research. To identify some demographic characteristics of the participants, a "Personal Information Form" consisting of four questions and a "Continuous Anxiety Scale" consisting of 20 questions were used. The results of the study were analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 program, and non-parametric tests (Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis H Test) were used since the values obtained from the normality analysis of the data were not suitable for normal distribution according to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The continuous anxiety scores of the 112 participants ranged from a minimum of 63.00 to a maximum of 73.00. The mean continuous anxiety score was 67.17±2.71, which indicates a high level of anxiety. The study found no significant difference between continuous anxiety levels and gender, education level, age, and athlete age variables (p>0.05).
